Well now I do. I got them put on on October 21, 2010. First they adjusted my top teeth, which went really smoothly, and then they started the process of putting them on my bottom teeth. 30 minutes later when that was done, there was only small details, like the color. I went with orange and black for Halloween. Then they built up really annoying glue on my back molars to prevent me from biting off my braces(which i already did before they put the glue on.). I am getting them adjusted on December 16, 2010GManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-78561424386783003822010-10-11T15:44:00.001-04:002010-10-11T15:44:00.179-04:00Happy thanks giving everybody!!!!I would like to personally like to wish all of you a happy thanks giving. At the festival, they had all sorts of interesting things. Naturally there was loads of garlic for sale, but there was also honey, corn steamed from an antique steam engine, and lots of vendors. There was also pizza and burgers to eat. There were 2 cooking demonstrations going on as well. The Stratford Garlic Festival is a once a year event, so make sure you stop by next year.GManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-81312043351547558082010-09-27T07:00:00.001-04:002010-09-27T07:00:12.949-04:00Reviews BlogAs you may know, my website has a reviews section. That section no longer exists. Reviews have now been made into a blog. The advantages of having it on a blog, means that it is searchable, has an archive, has categories, and you can follow the blog. This also means that it is easier for me to write them, which means that more will come out more often. To visit this new blog, go to www.my-happy-life.org/reviews.GManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-43081440465519092842010-09-20T07:00:00.001-04:002010-09-20T07:00:11.816-04:00New Computer ArrivedAs you know, if I could bike 700 kilometers, I would get a new computer. On August 17, 2010 I reached the goal. I finished the challenge 3 weeks, and 5 days early. I had completed my $500.00 Challenge much earlier. On September 2, 2010 the new computers arrived.

It took over an hour to install and configure mine. In the end it all turned out well. I wrote all of this on the day after I got the new computer. My computer has many new and high tech programs. The computer it's self, can hold over 1,000 gigabytes, has 4 gigabytes of ram(random access memory), over 3,000,000 operations per second 2monitors, and windows 7. As for the programs them self, I have Microsoft Office 2010, which I did not even know had come out yet.

My website is created on Macromedia Dreamweaver 8, which is over 5 years old. Now I am using Adobe Dreamweaver CS5, which is the newest software. It got renamed Adobe because Adobe bought Macromedia.

As I have said, the computer has 2 monitors, and windows 7, which turn out to be a great combination. You can drag programs between the 2 screens, as well snap them to places.

Snapping means dragging the window you are using to the left or right of the screens, and then re-sizing them to that half. You can also snap them to the top, which makes it full screen.

Windows 7 also has a speech recognition software on it. This means that the user can tell the computer what to do by literally talking to it. All you have to do is, turn it on, do a tutorial, and then you can use it. You have to do the tutorial to make it work. The computer will get trained to your voice, making it understand you better. You can tell it to do things like open programs, or make a mouse grid, so you can move your cursor with out even touching it. If you have a program like Microsoft Word open, you can dictate to it, so if you talk it types for you. That means you can just read your reports out loud instead of typing them!

Below is a picture of my new computer and ipad:
The computers themselves will arrive on Thursday September 2, 2010. Today, August 30, the monitors just arrived. They are 24" and awesome. I am getting 2 and I am not sure that they will both fit on my desk. I will post another post when i get the cpu.GManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-7532944720831551022010-09-06T10:00:00.001-04:002010-09-06T10:33:06.205-04:00BracesOn August 18, 2010 I walked into Wilk&Wilk orthodontist just like I often do. However, usually I am going in to see when I will get braces, but this time I was actual getting them!! When I first came in I had no idea what to expect. When they called my name, they took me to the x-ray room. After taking a few x-rays, they took me into the back. There were rows and rows of chairs most of them filled with kids getting their braces tightened.
The doctors took me over to an empty chair and told me to sit down. One of the doctors(I had 3) noticed that my mom was using her ipad. So for a long time we all sat and talked about the ipads. What a weird thing to happen when you were about to get braces. After a while, they all finished, so they started to work on me.

First they cleaned my teeth with bad tasting grit. Then they put on the first brackets. They would put a little glue on my teeth, put on the bracket, then harden the glue with UV light. To do the front brackets, the put a circle thing in my mouth to keep it open. Before they hardened those brackets though, they needed my orthodontist Dr.Brian Wilk, to check them.
When he came over he saw my moms ipad, so we started talking about them again. He asked me if I had flight control(which I ended up buying a soon as I got home from the orthodontist) and I tried to say no, but I couldn't since I had the thing in my mouth In the end, I got the braces on just fine. They were a little sore for the first couple days, but by the 4th day, which is the day I am writing it, I just post published this, they got better. I only have my front teeth on right now, so on October 21, 2010 I am going to get the bottom teeth on. I will post another post when I get the bottom braces, but until then keep coming back every monday to see what I have posted.

I also posted this from my ipadGManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-58837122788332476562010-08-30T10:00:00.000-04:002010-08-30T10:00:07.862-04:00New computerNow that I have biked 700 kilometers and done 6 of my other challenge my dad will get me a new computer and $500.00 into my bank account. My computer has not yet arrived, because it had to be custom built. After we ordered the computers, a new version came out, so we got those I stead. My new computer will have 2, 24 inch monitors, 1 terabyte or 1000 gigabytes of storage, A 4 gig RAM, an operating speed of 3,000,000 operations per second, and have a 4 core processor, which means it can do up to 4 things at once. I know that that seems like a lot, but most of the current computers only have a 1 core processor. The computer will also have windows 7, and Microsoft 2007. I do not have it yet, but when i do I will post some pictures of it on here. I am still typing all of me blogs from my iPad. It rocks!!!GManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-35664499896683090832010-08-23T10:00:00.000-04:002010-08-23T10:00:07.172-04:002010 Tractor ShowThe 26 annual Essex County Steam and Gas Engine show, or the tractor show as I like to call it, took place on August 13, 14, and 15, 2010. I went to the show on the Sunday before the show started on the train with my grandma. Every year I go to the show to help my papa set up the show. He used to set up the entire show which included telling people where to parck their antique tractors or cars. This year though, he only did the setup of the feature tractor which was Oliver tractors and machinery. We spent a whole week from Sunday to Sunday setting up the show, then exhibiting tractors. This year I exhibited my 1958 moto mower lawn tractor. In the end the show was a huge success. This is also the 8 out of 8 post of my summer challenge. Which means that once I bike 60 more kilometers I will get a fancy new computer, and $500.00. Although I do not need to post any more posts, I will still try to post one every Monday. Good by for now!!GManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-30207454240600406222010-08-16T10:00:00.001-04:002010-08-16T10:00:01.434-04:00IpadsOver the summer my parents decided to buy Ipads to read books on. Now it is used by university students , or other manufacturing companies to design complicated machines. To use Solid Works, you first must make a part. To do this, you must start with a 3D chart. You next add all of the dimensions and improve it's look. Once you have many parts, you must join them all together. You have to make sure that when you make your parts there is a way you can join them. Once all of your parts are assembled, you finish improving the look by doing things like rounding off the edges, making parts smooth, and making them shiny or colored. I tried Solid Works, and unless you have a lot of time and a good teacher, Solid Works can be very hard to use. I would rate Solid Works at 6 out of 10. This is also the 6 post of my summer challenge.GManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-65255640114175210502010-08-02T10:00:00.000-04:002010-08-02T10:00:00.885-04:00MSNMSN or Windows live Messenger, is an instant messenger program much like Skype or Google Talk. In MSN you can type to your friends, or video chat with them. In video chat, you can talk to the person and see them, provided that you booth have a web cam. You can also do video chat, just without the video, so it is just a chat. You can also make calls to cellphones or landlines, but it does not work super well. One thing that I like about MSN is their games. You can play the simple games like checkers or chess, or you can play some weird games that you normally wouldn't come across. If you don't want to download the program, then you can go on a website called http://www.ebuddy.com/. On it you can chat with all of your friends who have MSN, or people with other programs like Google Talk, Yahoo Messenger, or AOL. I would rate MSN at 7 out of 10. With it you can type messages to your friends who have Skype, or chat with them. When chatting you have two options. You can choose to just talk to them, or you can choose video chat, where you can chat and see each other provided that you have a webcam. Aside from doing all the normal things you can also do a few different things. You can buy Skype credit, and using it, you can text or call mobile or land line phones. You can also share your screen with your friends, so if you need to show them a document then all you need to do is click a button. You can also play games like checkers or chess. If you wish to download Skype then go to: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/home. I would rate Skype at 8 out of 10. Just like blogger, you can do all your normal things such as making posts, and adding categories. It can also so things quite different from blogger though. It can also do things like have multiple pages, choose from over 100 themes, help you make a great design, and have multiple editors. Having multiple editors can be a great thing when you have more than one person who needs to edit the blog. All you have to do is write their email, add some personal information, and then they can edit your blog. You can also set them to different ranks. For example: you might have a person who you want to publish and change posts, but not be able to change anything big. You would set this person as an editor. When you start your blog on http://wordpress.com/, then you will be automatically be set as the administrator, who can do anything. You can also set people to contributor, but all they can do is write their own posts. Here are the links to some of the Wordpress blogs that I have made for my friends: http://neen2010.wordpress.com/, and:http://brantfordfencing.wordpress.com/. I would rate Wordpress.com at 9 out of 10. It was my second time ever going to this camp, which means that I have been fencing for a total of 1 year now. I also take part in a fencing club that takes place from April to September from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It is at the SC Johnson Costain Community center. If you want to know more about this club, then go to: http://brantfordfencing.wordpress.com/. This is also post number 2 in my blog challenge. If I can manage to bike 700 km by September 5, then I will get a new computer with 2 monitors, Windows 7 and office 2007. I can also do another challenge. All I have to do is complete six of the challenges on this page on my website: http://www.my-happy-life.org/summerchallenge.html. So far I have already done the swimming challenge, the running challenge, the reading challenge and the web challenge which is what the link to my website is. I am also trying to do the blog challenge, which is what this is. I have to post an entry on my blog a minimum of 8 times every week. Each one also has to be 100 words or more long. So far this is my first one.GManhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10343513213579624630noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-967241423685943434.post-313339262710732222010-03-12T13:48:00.000-05:002010-08-27T16:34:36.887-04:00My cavityOnce I had discovered that I had got my first cavity I was really scared about what it would be like to get it filled. I thought the needle would be very painful and take a long time. I also expected the drill to be huge and take a long time, and that it would make a huge hole in my tooth. I thought that I was also going to have to take laughing gas to help me get the needle(I am really afraid of needles). When I got to my dentist I felt like I had been sitting in the wating room for hours. Once I was finally called the dentist took me to the big chair where I was going to get my cavity filled. At this point I was really freeking out. Then to my surprise the dentist told me that my cavity was so tiny that I didn't need a needle or laughing gas. The drill was so small that the drill bit looked like one of thoes small screwdrivers. He slowly started to drill through my cavity, and it didn't even hurt one bit, he put a tiny silver filling in my tooth, and says that I am done. The filling is so tiny that most people say that it is white because they can't see it. In the end getting it filled was not so bad. I guess It was nothing to get all scared about.

To see my website which is made on Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 please visit http://www.my-happy-life.org/. To make a website on Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 you have to know the HTML code. To start a website on Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 you have to use the HTML code to create a template. Once you have the basic template you can start to work in the "design" mode of Macromedia Dreamweaver 8. In the design mode you can do things such as insert an image into a picture box or type in a text box, but if you want to do something like add a link box, or a text box you have to use the HTML code. If you are in the "code" mode of Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 you can do much more than just type or add pictures. You can do things like add links, ads, and if you know other types of coding like Java, or Flash you can add games. On Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 you can have more than just one page. All you have to do to get a new page is go on to an existing page, click on "file" then "save as" and create a different name that you want the page to be called an the new page will be created! If you get really good with the HTML code then you can start to add trickier things such as Google Ads which is where Google puts ads on your website, or Google Analytics which is where you put a big code on each of your pages and Google will track how many visits that page has, and which links get clicked on the most. If you want to see what the "Hyper Text Markup Language" (HTML) code looks like then right now right click on your mouse and click on "View source". I rate Macromedia Dreamweaver 8 at 9 out of 10.

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? On blogger you can type posts, add pictures to your posts, and If you know how (I know little about it but I can still do a few things) edit the HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) code. As well as making posts, you can edit your personal profile. You can type your age, where you live, favorite books and movies, hobbies, and a random question. Your blog is not the only blog you can go on. You can visit other blogs and if you enjoy them, you can become a follower. Visitors to your blog can become followers, and leave comments on your posts. I rate Blogger at 7 out of 10.

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? I was really excited to go see the torch. We waited on the street for about an hour until the torch arrived. There were lots of cars and sponsoring trucks in front of the torch, but when the torch finally passed us it was not as interesting as I thought it would have been. All it was, was a lady running by caring a fancy flaming stick. The experience only lasted about 5 seconds. I guess it was nothing to get worked up about.

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? Well now Google has come out with the SECOND version of Google Chrome and you still can't download the Google toolbar! I have already downloaded the new version so I can't get rid of it, but i have not really noticed anything different between the old, and new version. I will keep playing around with it to see if I can find anything new about it. I have also noticed that everything from my last post on Google Chrome will still work on the new Chrome. I hope this helps. I rate the second version of Google Chrome at 9 out of 10

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? I gave Google Chrome another try and now I love it!) but now Google has made Google Talk. It is an instant messenger program. To download it and make it work, you have to get Gmail as well. It does not work very well, but I am trying it just like with Google Chrome. All you can do on it is send messages, send files, and make audio calls to your contacts. You can download voice and video chat, but that only works on your Gmail page. Just to figure out how to make voice and video calls took me hours! So far it is not looking so good, but I will give it a shot just just like I did for Google Chrome. Who knows. Maybe I will end up loving it, but Skype is much better. I will keep playing around with it and let you know if I find anything good. I rate Google Talk at 5 out of 10

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? It had a broken gasket which made it leak oil, and a broken spring which kept making it stall. My Papa took apart the engine and fixed the gasket and spring. Once all of that was done my Papa gave the whole tractor a paint job. My Papa says the Moto-Mower is now running smoothly because of the fixed engine, and the ride is less bumpy because my Papa let some air out of the tires. Unfortunately for me I have not yet had a chance to drive the Moto-Mower, but I can not wait for my chance.
Here are some pictures:

Before:

After:

var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ?
